JOB: Assistant Lecturer in Drama & Theatre

The School of Informatics and Creative Arts at Dundalk Institute of Technology wishes to recruit an Assistant Lecturer in Theatre and Drama to support the delivery of the BA Theatre and Film Practice and BA (Hons) Drama and Performance. Applicants must have a primary honours degree in a relevant discipline as well as having a relevant post-graduate qualification of at least Masters level and at least three yearss post-qualification.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in the artistic practice of theatre and drama studies (direction, performance, design etc.) and display exceptional expertise as a facilitator of theatre performance skills.  Professional direction of theatre productions or creative production experience is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a high standard of professional practice and include a detailed and active professional portfolio of productions.

Candidates should also have a record of achievement within an academic and professional environment and demonstrate their record of research experience and scholarly output/applied practice in the discipline.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level across the core areas of theatre and performance studies to include performance theory, directing, devising, and contribute to and coordinate relevant performance activities in the Institute.
