Scholarship for the MA in Irish Writing and Film

 

The closing date for receipt of applications is

MA studentships 2013-14

Applications are invited for a fixed-term scholarships from suitably qualified candidates who wish to undertake an MA in the School of English, starting September 2013. The studentship will cover EU fees.

 One scholarship is available for the MA in Irish Writing and Film. Scholarships are also available for the MA in American Literature and Film, the MA in Creative Writing, the MA in Medieval and Renaissance and the MA in Modernities.

Administrative duties

The scholarship holder will be assigned some administrative duties within the School as part of his/her appointment.

 Qualifications and eligibility

§  Applicants must have at least a second-class honours (grade 1) or equivalent in their first degree, in any area or period of the discipline of English.

§  Scholarships are open to EU and non-EU students, but the funding will only cover the EU fee. Successful non-EU applicants will be responsible for the balance.

Applications must be submitted both in hard copy and electronic form.

Applications will not be assessed if they are incomplete or have been received after the advertised closing date of Wednesday, 15 May 2013.

Bursaries

University College Cork is also pleased to announce bursaries of €2000 to post graduate students who were previously in receipt of a Higher Education grant from their Local Authority or Vocational Education Committee (VEC) and are now no longer eligible due to cutbacks. (Students who are in receipt of any other source of funding or scholarship are not eligible for this bursary.) See:
