WORKSHOP: Brave New Worlds – 7-8 February 2025 at the Aldous Huxley Centre, Zürich

A collaboration between Robin Hull’s Aldous Huxley Centre in Zürich and Flann O’Brien studies. 

Featuring leading international researchers, ‘Brave New Worlds’ explores the startling evidence of connections between Huxley and O’Brien in the 20th century and uses their work to address urgent 21st century questions surrounding the medicinal, environmental and technological.

Running from Friday 7 February to Saturday 8 February, and conducted in English, the workshop includes refreshments and cultural programming that make it ideal for both international visitors to Zürich and its resident community of academics, students and intellectuals.

Speakers include Maebh Long, Paul Fagan, David Dunaway, Dana Sawyer, Jake Poller, Brian Ó Conchubhair and Joseph Brooker. Panellist papers will explore intoxication, addiction, food, time, censorship and the read / write paradigm of the information age.
