CFP: Babel-AFIAL Journal

The open access journal Babel-AFIAL welcomes articles and reviews for issue 34 which will be published at the end of next year. The deadline for submissions is  March 31, 2025.

Babel – AFIAL is an online peer-reviewed journal that publishes original work on different aspects of Anglophone culture (language, linguistics, literature and culture) indexed in databases and repertoires such as ABELL, CIRC, Dialnet, EBSCO, ERIH Plus, InDICEs CSIC, Latindex, MLAIB – MLA International Bibliography, RESH and Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory.

All articles must be original and may be written in English, German, Spanish or Galician. Submissions go through a double-blind peer review process, involving at least two external readers specializing in the corresponding field. The journal consults with an Editorial Board and an Advisory Board, which include reputed academics from Spanish and foreign universities.

Author Guidelines

  1. The article, showing no personal details, must be preceded by two abstracts, not exceeding 200 words, one in the language of the article, and another in English (if English is not the original language).
  2. Each abstract must be followed by five or six keywords, in the two chosen languages.
  3. Articles may be written in any of the following languages: English, Galician, German or Spanish.
  4. Articles should range between 6000 and 8000 words in length, including abstracts, notes and works cited. Reviews should range between 1500 and 3000 words.
  5. Font size: Times New Roman 12 throughout the whole article, including notes and works cited.
  6. Spacing: double, except in abstracts, notes and works cited, which should be presented with single spacing.
  7. The title of the article must be in bold. Headings too, duly numbered (1., 2., 3., etc.)
  8. Notes should appear immediately after the main body of the article and before the works cited list, arranged in alphabetical order. Endnotes will be limited to a maximum of 12not exceeding 120 words for a single note Help with Endnotes
