PRIZE: ISAANZ 2024 Postgraduate Essay Competition

The Editors of the interdisciplinary Australasian Journal of Irish Studies (AJIS) and the Irish Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand are pleased to announce that the 2024 ISAANZ Irish Studies Postgraduate Essay Prize competition is now open for entries.

• Publication of the winning essay in AJIS, subject to normal academic refereeing.
• A cash prize of AU$300.
• A year’s membership of ISAANZ.

• Entry is open to anyone enrolled in an MA or PhD programme between June 2023 and June 2024 at any institution.
• Essays on any aspect of Irish Studies will be considered.
• Essays MUST be accompanied by a completed Entry Form.
• Essays MUST comply with the AJIS style guide, available at:
• Length of essays: 5000–8000 words.
• Any essay entered for the Prize should NOT be submitted for publication elsewhere until after judging is completed and entrants have been notified as to whether their essay has been successful or not.
• The Editors’ decisions are final.
