CFP: Irish Arts and Disability

IRISH ARTS AND DISABILITY

Rosaleen McDonagh, Irish writer, member of Aosdána

The event focuses on Irish literature, theatre, cinema and arts that address the protagonism or life of people with disabilities, and their various roles as authors, actors, translators, or participants in Irish artistic expression, as well as cultural productions that seek inclusion and accessibility.

Proposals for papers that address the theme of the event – Irish Arts and Disability including comparative, translation, or intersectional studies, of 15-20 minutes, should include:

The author’s name, title of the paper, abstract (150-200 words) and author’s bio (80-100 words), in Times New Roman 12, preferably in English, although Portuguese is also accepted.

Please submit your proposals to ufsc.nei@gmail.com by August 14th, 2023.
The event will be held in person, with no registration fee. Proposals covering other topics within Irish Studies will also be considered, based on the availability of slots, at the discretion of the organising committee.
