Symposium & Exhibition Launch: “Ragged, livid & on fire: The Wanderings of Melmoth at 200”; Marsh’s Library, Dublin, 29 October, 2021.

On 29th October 2021, Marsh’s Library and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin will host an exciting celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Charles Robert Maturin’s Melmoth the Wanderer: ‘Ragged, livid & on fire: The Wanderings of Melmoth at 200’.


Festivities will include an academic symposium; a public reading of excerpts of Melmoth the Wanderer; and the launch of the ‘Ragged, livid & on fire’ exhibition at Marsh’s Library, which highlights the works that Maturin alludes to in Melmoth and which he may have consulted while working at Marsh’s.
