Urgent: Support Yeats Society Sligo, facing imminent closure.
Dear Friend,
For all of us who love Yeats’ poetry, we understand how important it is to keep
his legacy alive for generations to come.
Whether you seek the peaceful refuge of Innisfree or the fire and fury of
Easter 1916, our national poet makes Ireland a richer place.
But right now, Yeats’ legacy is under threat.
Yeats Society Sligo
faces imminent closure unless we act now.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on our ability to raise
revenue and continue running the society. We urgently need to raise €100,000 by
August otherwise we will be forced to close our centre, our Summer School – the
society itself.
And if we go, so does over a century of literary heritage.
There are three ways you can help:
1. Donate to our crowdfunder
to Save Yeats Society Sligo today
2. Share the link to our crowdfunder on your social media
3. Tell the world about your passion for Yeats and why we must protect his
legacy
We know our lives would be poorer without Yeats’ poetry. Ireland would be
poorer without him too. Our national poet has given us so much – now you have a
chance to give something back by preserving his legacy so Yeats will always be
here inspiring future generations.
It’s up to all of us who love Yeats to protect his legacy for Ireland and
for future generations of poets, readers, academics and enthusiasts.
Please donate to our crowdfunder
to save Yeats Society Sligo.
Thank you
Susan O’Keeffe
Director of Yeats Society Sligo
P.S. Remember, there are three ways you can help – donate today, share the
crowdfunder on your social media, and spread the word about why Yeats’ legacy
must be protected. Thank you
