‘The Ends of Ireland’

The Global Irish Studies Centre, UNSW, together with the Irish Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand (ISAANZ), are pleased to announce a major international conference for Irish Studies.
We welcome proposals for papers, panels and seminars on all the many implications and meanings of ‘The Ends of Ireland’, temporal, physical and theoretical.
We also welcome proposals on any aspect of Irish Studies from across the arts, humanities and social sciences including, but not limited to, history, politics, literary studies, sociology, geography, film and media, cultural studies, anthropology.
Comparative and crossover papers, panels and seminars, drawing on cognate areas and disciplines, are also encouraged.
PROPOSALS FOR INDIVIDUAL PAPERS (of 20-5 minutes) or PANELS (of three of four presenters addressing a shared theme) must be sumbitted via email, to isaanzconference2013@unsw.edu.au, by 30 August 2013.
Early career researchers and postgraduate students are particularly welcome.
In addition, the conference committe is seeking submissions for the ISAANZ Postgraduate Prize, awarded for the best essay on an Irish Studies theme. See conference website for details.
