Post Doctoral Research Fellowships, UCD A number of temporary 2-year Post Doctoral Research Fellowships are available at the UCD John Hume Institute as part of the PRTLI4 funded programme ‘Global Ireland: Transforming the Study of Ireland and its diaspora” which is concerned with four key thematic areas: Footprints of Ireland: heritage and landscape; For further details on each strand see http://www.ucd.ie/johnhume/ University of Vienna: Visiting Professor in Cultural Studies/Media Studies The Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna invites applications for the position of VISITING PROFESSOR IN CULTURAL STUDIES/MEDIA STUDIES tenable from 1 October 2009 until 31 January 2010, full time employment, 4-month limited contract. The advertised position is in the Department of English. Applicants should have an excellent teaching and research record in the area of Cultural Studies (English Studies) with reference to cultural theory and popular culture. The Department of English is looking for candidates with a distinguished record of publications, a record of service to and authority in the international academic community, and experience in and enthusiasm for undergraduate and graduate teaching. The teaching load is 8 hours/week per semester. Applications should include a CV, a list of publications and conference papers as well as an overview of courses taught. Any extensive additional material (e.g. copies of publications) should not be included.
