The IASIL Newsletter has become an Internet publication with the last issue of the present Executive period. This issue therefore replaces the hardcopy edition previously posted to all members. As departing editor, I take this opportunity to thank the Executive and Membership of IASIL for their appreciation and support during six years past.
In Autumn 2000 I will be launching the Princess Grace Irish Library Bulletin, likewise an electronic publication, in my capacity as Literary Director of the Library in Monaco. This will be a 'live' newsletter providing full news of coming conferences, publishing events and academic news, together with some features and reviews. I hope that IASIL membership will become regular readers and will not hesitate to contribute news and information.
The PGIL Bulletin will be one of a number of electronic services coming out of the Princess Grace Irish Library. The chief of these is EirData, a compendium of literary biography and bibliography, commentary and criticism. EirData is currently being compiled under contract between the Princess Grace Foundation and the University of Ulster with funding from the Ireland Funds (Monaco). Dr Mary McAleese (President of Ireland) will conduct the EirData launch while visiting the Principality as Guest of Honour at the Gala Dinner of the Ireland Funds (Monaco).

IASIL 2001 is scheduled to take place at Dublin City University/St. Patrick's TTC (Drumcondra), under the joint direction of Barbara Freitag and Patrick Burke of those institutions.
The 2002 Conference has been planned for the Princess Grace Irish Library when I will have the honour of welcoming IASIL to Monaco in my capacity as Literary Adviser and Conference Director to the Library.
