HOW TO JOIN OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Print out and fill in a membership form in Word Format or on a webpage, and post it to the appropriate treasurer

IASIL cannot accept credit card payments online or by email at present, though it is hoped that this facility will be made available during the lifetime of the current executive (2006-2009). Credit card payments by post are welcome.

BENEFITS TO MEMBERS
Members of IASIL receive the following benefits:

  • Two copies of IRISH UNIVERSITY REVIEW each year.
  • The opportunity to present a paper at the annual conference
  • The opportunity to post information about your publications, conferences, etc. on the IASIL website
  • Access to the IASIL Listserv (if desired)

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

Membership of IASIL runs for the calendar year. Any membership applications received after 1 August 2008 will commence on 1 January 2009.

SENDING YOUR PAYMENT

If you are paying for your membership with a credit card, or if you are resident in Europe, Australia, Asia or Africa and paying with a EURO or POUNDS STERLING cheque (drawn on a UK bank) or a EURO bank draft, you should send your applications to: Dr Joachim Fischer

If you are resident in the USA, and are not paying by credit card, you should send your applications to: Professor Joan Dean

If you are resident in Canada, and are not paying by credit card, you should send your applications to:Professor Ninian Mellamphy.

Note that the old-style Eurocheques, and International Postal Orders will not be accepted

All cheques/drafts should be made payable to IASIL.

IASIL Honour Scholarship Fund
While joining the association or renewing their membership, you are asked to make a (voluntary) donation to the IASIL Honour Scholarship Fund, which was established to enable members to honour deceased members of IASIL, or to make a contribution to further the aims of the Association. The interest on the fund is to be expended to assist an overseas student or students to attend IASIL conferences in the years when they are held in Ireland (2007, 2010, 2013, etc).

IASIL Support Fund
While joining the association or renewing their membership, you are asked to make a (voluntary) donation to the IASIL Support Fund. This fund was set up in August 2001, to subsidise travel to and accommodation at the triennial conferences in Ireland of non-student members from countries where the financial costs would otherwise constitute great hardship.

Membership applications will not be processed unless accompanied by this form.

When does my membership expire?

If you joined IASIL before July 2008, your membership expires in December 2008. You should receive the 2008 Irish Univeristy Review (2 vols) and were entitled to speak at the 2008 Conference in Porto. If you have joined IASIL since August 2008, your membership began in January 2009. If in doubt, contact your nearest Treasurer.

Change of Address

Have you changed your postal or email address? If so, please alert the Treasurer or the Secretary. You may also email IASIL Online, and your details will be forwarded. Please note however that you should not consider your email to have been delivered until you receive a written (i.e. not automated) acknowledgement.
