Irish Theatre and Globalisation

This panel considers whether globalisation requires new methodological approaches for the study of Irish drama. Vic Merriman will outline the relationships between Globalisation, Civil Society, and Cultural Work. Shaun Richards will take up and extend this exploration, considering the extent to which globalisation, rather than postcolonialism, is now the most appropriate paradigm for the study of Irish theatre. Patrick Lonergan will explore the relationships between globalisation and postcolonialism, by considering the impact of multiculturalism on Irish theatre.
