the proposal and the reference have been received at IASIL
on or before the closing date. Applications will be
assessed by an international panel of subject specialists. There is no bar to holding or applying for a

correspondence regarding the decisions of the awarding panel. Please note
that by applying, applicants undertake to accept the terms under which
applications are assessed. How
to complete the form Please
type/word-process throughout. Applicants may, if they wish, paste
word-processed text on to the printed application form; or they may reproduce

to the questions. Please note the length of the application form is three
sides of A4. Please respect the regulations regarding font size and length.

acceptance of any corrections required by the examiners. §3 Please select the cost band appropriate for the country in

no objection to its scholarships being held in conjunction with awards from
other bodies, provided that there is no duplication
of expenditure, and IASIL’s scholarship is
used primarily to cover travel costs. Applicants are
requested to keep IASIL informed of the
outcomes of any other applications. §7 Your referee should be able to give an informed view of your
research and its progress, the quality and value of your proposed paper/poster,
and the value of the conference to your research project. Assessment criteria: Assessors
will evaluate the proposal on the basis of the
academic quality of the paper to be delivered/participation in postgraduate
workshop, and the relevance of the event to the applicant’s research
interests. §8 Please sign and date your application form. Please note
that signing the application form constitutes confirmation that the
information provided is complete and accurate, and acceptance of all terms, conditions and notices contained in the Notes for
Applicants. Subsequent discovery of any deliberate
falsehood will automatically render the application null and void. If
an award has been made, IASIL
will require a full refund. What
to do next Please
complete sections 1 and 2 on the referee’s form and send it together
with a copy of your application to your referee. The reference should be returned directly to IASIL
by the closing date. It is your responsibility to inform your referee
of the closing date
and to ensure that the reference is submitted by the due date.
Applicants are advised that an application cannot be
considered for an award unless the reference has been received by the closing
date. Please allow your referee sufficient time to write his/her report.
Faxed references are not accepted. Please
send your application as an e-mail attachment to IASIL at c.s.richards@staffs.ac.uk The application form (and reference) must

rule. Outcome

About IASIL
Conferences |
||
|
IASIL conferences are
private meetings of members of the Association. They are
not intended to be open to the public or to non-members of the
Association, though occasional arrangements may be made to facilitate such
access, on an ad hoc basis,
and subject to the approval of the Association and/or the individual
conference organiser(s). Conditions of
access for non-members will vary from year to year; the conditions in force
for one conference should not be seen as a precedent
for future years' conferences. All
conference organisers reserve the right to deny access to the conference to
non-members, or to cancel non-members' registration requests, without
explanation. The
conferences are not held to provide opportunities
for individuals or organisations to promote activities not directly related to
the Association's activities (i.e. official Association business and the
delivery of academic papers). Activities not included within the remit of IASIL conferences include but are not limited to the
following examples: publishing, student recruitment, and the promotion of
academic programmes. IASIL conferences are not held for
the purposes of conducting business on matters not directly relating to the
Association's activities, such as job interviews, bookselling, or discussion
of publication opportunities. No delegate should form the expectation of
entitlement to conduct any such business. Organisation
of IASIL conferences is the responsibility of local
organisers, working in conjunction with the Association's Executive.
Arrangements for conferences may therefore change from year to year; no
arrangement in place for one year's conference should be
seen as a precedent for the organisation of future years' conferences.
Priority of
access to the conference will always be given to IASIL members in good standing. Non-members
may be admitted from time-to-time, but as IASIL is a private organisation, conference organisers
and the Association retain the right to refuse access to conferences to
non-members, without explanation. |
